Confined space surveys
SURVEYING HAZARDOUS AREAS
SAFELY ACQUIRING ON-SITE MEASUREMENT DATA
There are many different types of confined spaces and hazardous areas classifications which occur on across sites throughout the UK. These are usually controlled to restrict unauthorised access and may often require specialist training and equipment to gain entry. However the first rule to any confined space entry is avoid it.
PointSCAN specialise in 3D laser scanning of confined spaces and hazardous areas. With over 20 years experience in confined space entry we can manage or assist with assessments and solutions designed to comply with your current safety requirements. Above all our surveys are designed to minimise the entry of personnel allowing anyone to review the area in a safer virtual reality environment.
1st RULE of confined space entry... AVOID IT!

Inverted tripods allow 3D laser scanner aceess via entry points eliminating access by personel. Whilst the scanner can be remotely operated from a safe location.
Where ever possible measurement data for tanks and chambers can be acquired from a safe location.

Unrestricted access with Confined space survey
A single survey provides multiple formats to view and explore the surveyed area in virtual reality. Access can now be granted to all member of the project team without any additional training. More over limiting access to just the survey team reduces overall project risk as well as the potential saving to time and project cost.

Unlimited Design
2D drafting data created from a 3D laser survey can be edited to delete individual items and install designs for new plant to be fitted in the knowledge that the the scan file is at a 1:1 ratio.

No longer in the dark
A 3D laser survey is able to capture high quality images and measurement data due to the fact that it generates its own light source. Therefore no additional lighting is required.
